The Gastivists support local fights, organise actions and facilitate workshops on a regular basis.
We also coordinate bigger projects, which have included everything from gatherings and movement strategizing to hijacking gas industry events or coordinating global days of action against gas.

OUR PROJECTS
energy futures
We ask the difficult questions: how do we actually fight for an energy transition, and not only campaign against false solutions?
How do we upscale “community-owned renewables” to cities ? Should we be demanding public control of energy while far-right governments are rising all around? Are we ignoring these questions because we’re scared of the answers?

Care work
We believe that the revolutionary work of social change is in how we work, as much as what work we do.
By having an explicit role of care work attributed to some of our members, we believe is one of the reasons why we have been working together as a group for such a long time, building trust – and why we manage to bring what we bring (creative, engaging, complex content). For us, this work is essential.
Our aim is to share our knowledge and experience regarding care practices outside the collective too and promote care culture within the activist movement.

A world without gas. A world without oppression
We use gas as a lens to fight against many other injustices which are perpetuated by the fossil fuel industry. We like to challenge the climate movement and bring nuances into the conversations. Either we start difficult conversations, or we give workshops and webinars on topics we find important, the fight against gas is never reduced to just gas.
Here you can read our analyses and reports, find webinars on the fight against gas or other creative project we do.

OUR ZINES &
ANIMATIONS
and other resources on gas, its links to climate change, and the struggles going on around the world to stop new gas infrastructure.

gatherings and in person meetings
The way we work is based on networks of trust and connection, both with NGOs and the grassroots world, as we believe that the strengths of our movement lies in the relationships we create between us. We focus on grassroots activism because of the potential it has to really create new spaces, dialogues and ways of working, which empower the people and create the communities we believe are necessary.

Radio has long been a trusted voice and an incubator of cultural and social movements.
📡 Radish Radio
a new online community radio station from the movement, for the movement. Broadcasting from occupations, protests, climate camps and music festivals, with a mix of music, interviews, podcasts and reports from the ground – the revolution is happening everywhere, so tune in and be part of it.
Local and regional work

grasSroots support
We work closely with many amazing grassroots groups opposing gas infrastructure all over the world. We offer them support by providing resources and information, connecting them to other groups opposing the same infrastructure, and help them engage with EU and international political processes. On this page you can find some examples of our work supporting grassroots gas fighters.

solidarity actions
and letters
Solidarity is about standing together with those fighting injustice around the world, and responding to their calls to share the word about their struggles. We regularly take part in solidarity actions and host solidarity letters. Some are directly linked to the fight against gas, others cover wider issues of oppression and injustice.
